MANUFACTURE
TOUGH, COST-
EFFICIENT
PARTS WITH
GAS NITRIDING.

TO INCREASE SURFACE HARDNESS

Gas Nitriding increases surface hardness and fatigue strength in carbon-based alloys and is favoured for components that are subject to heavy loading.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:

01

Gears, crankshafts, valve parts, drive shafts and bearings where there is a need for high resistance to wear, scuffing, galling and seizure.

02

Applications which require improved fatigue strength and precision, such as extrusion screws and precision gears, benefit from Gas Nitriding.

03

Highly-stressed machine components and low-alloy steels also benefit from durability achieved using this process.

Gas Nitriding increases fatigue strength for a wide range of hardness and case depths.

All of our Gas Nitriding processes are developed to meet customer specifications and physical attributes.

THE BENEFITS OF

GAS NITRIDING

COST

Our system is cost effective. Little or no post processing is required.

DOCUMENTATION

We process control coupons which are catalogued and tested as required. A certificate of conformance is provided and supported by a time-temp chart.

Our system is serviced and calibrated annually.

SOFTWARE CONTROLLED

Our Nitrex system uses proprietary software to control case depths and consistent surface hardness.

DIMENSIONALLY STABLE

Gas Nitriding is a stable process which eliminates thermal shock during the heating and cooling stages creating a dimensionally stable part with low distortion due to the reduced stresses imposed on the base material.

SURFACE HARDNESS AND CASE DEPTH

Based on alloy, parts can achieve a surface hardness up to 60 HRC with controllable case depths of 0.002-0.030”.

CAPACITY

Pazmac’s Gas Nitride system is capable of loading parts up to 96” in length and 37” in diameter.

CLEAN

End users receive clean and residue free parts which are ready for immediate use.

CORROSION RESISTANT

Parts processed in Pazmac’s Gas Nitride furnace can also be provided with additional corrosion resistance.
